A fantastic first time experience at Wendy's place and definitely a place I will be returning to. A small independent cafe offering lovely home cooked food in a quaint setting. I arrived around 1pm and ordered the breakfast brunch and my partner got a chicken, sage and gravy sandwich with chips. The chips were so lush and the whole meal was just a delight to have. Comfort food at its best. I ordered a cheesecake and an apple pie to takeaway and these were heavenly. Definitely a great place for traditional English and home cooked food.

I have been here a few times and the food is excellent every time! Everything is freshly made and using high quality ingredients. The staff are always very polite and make you feel very welcome.

Small cafe in town, was looking for something nice with my dad and came across this lovely place. We got a toastie and a chicken and gravy dip, was so tasty. Will definitely back. Finished it off with homemade cheesecakes too. Couldn’t help but dig into it customer service was also brilliant!!

Visited for the first time. Lovely little cafe. Had the brunch which was served freshly cooked and piping hot. Very good, quality ingredients. A couple of points, order and pay at till, with an option to pay a tip, which I did. Although I normally prefer to pay at tip at the end of my food and service. Also, I asked if our tea could come with our food, only to be told, no it has to come out straight away as I am busy? With only one other table occupied at the time! By the time our food came, the tea was cold and not asked if we would like any more. The other odd thing when ordering brunch was asked if we wanted any cakes or biscuits? Which I may have done after the brunch but not at that point. A few tweaks with service and this cafe could be perfect.

We Called in today & had great meal, freshly cooked , very friendly staff, & reasonable priced. Next time we are in Sunderland & want something to eat , this will be my 1st place we will go.

family lunch We had a lovely time, from start to finish, to be honest it was a blessing in disguise, suited all of our tastes, food was freshly cooked, tastie, came out hot, everyone was happy, staff are chatty, friendly and supportive as had a few little ones with us. It's a hidden little germ in Sunderland. Worth a visit and value for money

Went here a few weeks ago for breakfast about 11am, i asked for chips with my breakfast and i was happy when the girl said I could have them. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Sunderland and I'd highly recommend a visit. They have a good amount to choose from and will visit another time to try a different meal. I will definitely be back for breakfast again. The staff were friendly and welcoming. I did notice they knew customer names which I thought was a nice touch as just something simple like that can make a difference to someone's day .

The food was absolutely unreal best breakfast I’ve had and I’ve travelled the world and tasted some lovely food but that top everywhere I’ve ate! The staff were extremely helpful and outgoing. The place is lovely and warming. The shops looks inviting from the outside thats what made me try there. I’m so glad we did as I’ve now found my new favourite place to eat! Everything was fresh & piping hot you can taste it in the food .. Thanks to the staff for excellent service .. we’ll see yous again very soon x
